Violence in Israel and Gaza took a new turn this Saturday when Gaza militants launched a surprise attack, sending thousands of rockets and paragliders into Israel by land, sea and air. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel is “at war”.
According to officials, at least 300 people have died in Israel and thousands more are injured. Fighting continued throughout the day, and on Saturday evening there were new rocket attacks on Tel Aviv and other areas.
Meanwhile, in Gaza, according to the Palestinian health ministry, at least 232 Palestinians have died and more than 1,600 people are injured. Israel conducted air strikes on that territory while its forces on the ground
